Park Meetups May-June

We are going to start having some face to face meet ups in local parks in Stockport. These will be outside and will be weather dependent.

The first will be in Alexandra Park and will be Thursday 19th May and will be at 1pm. Date and time could be a little subject to change depending on weather so if you are interested please register interest so you can be kept up to date of what is happening. There is a coffee cart by the Tennis Courts and I am suggesting we aim for the picnic tables in eyesight range from there by the Skate park although we may decide to move to the more visually pleasing tables by the pond. We would ask that people do not attend if they have any symptoms of anything that could be covid or another infectious disease and encourage people to take a PCR test on the day if possible.

The park is on multiple bus routes including the 11 and the 368 and there is good car parking.

We are also going to do a meet in Woodbank park on June 21st. At the moment the time for this is 1pm although that might be updated nearer the time. There is a cafe from which you can get takeaway coffee etc. if you wish. The exact gathering point will depend on numbers and we do ask you let us know if you are interested. It might be we ask people to bring blankets/rugs so those who feel happy to do so can sit on the grass. We will visit the park before the event and finalise the exact location so we can update nearer the time.

Vernon Park Cafe, Turncroft Ln, Offerton, Stockport, SK1 4AR is the cafe address
https://www.stockport.gov.uk/groups/pure-cafe-vernon-park has details of parking and public transport options for getting there.

Again we ask that you do not attend if showing symptoms of covid or any other transmittable illness. Also if possible please do a covid test on the day.

We are just experimenting with face to face meetings at the moment in terms of what reasonably safe and what is there interest in doing. We do appreciate feedback of this and we certainly want to find interesting and valuable ways to bring back face to face meetings to our membership.

We have quite a lot of events happening at the moment including some online Zoom based events we are setting up and our usual Friday Speakers. We also are having an event at a different time than normal with an American Professor and expert in exploring how Heart Rate Monitors can be used to assist people with ME/CFS and Long Covid. So have a look at the events section and see if there is anything of interest to you.
