It is with great sadness that we have to report Derek Vernon, who was Chair of the Group from December 1998 to November 2007, and Campaigns Officer from December 1993 to November 2013, passed away peacefully in a Darlington Nursing home on Friday 2nd September.

The funeral service will be at 11.00am on Wednesday 21st September at Marple Methodist Church, Church Lane, Marple. SK6 7AN and afterwards at The Ring of Bells pub which is just across the road a little bit further up. Parking is either at the pub, a main car park behind the Carver Theatre which is Pay and Display or along the road. We think that the church itself also has a small car park. The church are arranging for the service to be streamed. The family have requested that there are no flowers please and that donations are to a charity of your choice. Dress code as you feel appropriate.
