Tim Duerden has been teaching mindfulness in clinical, educational, corporate, and community settings for over 30 years and has been a teacher-trainer for Integrated Mindfulness for over 14 years. He is currently a senior lecturer in the University of Salford Counselling and Psychotherapy training team where he leads mindfulness-based modules. He has been an accredited Breathworks teacher since 2008 and has also trained in Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Mindfulness in Schools, Mindful Self-Compassion as well as undertaking training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Compassion Focused Therapy.
As a counsellor, CBT therapist and hypnotherapist he integrates mindfulness and self-compassion based approaches into his work. He has a particular interest in adapting mindfulness to meet the needs of groups often marginalised from mainstream services.
Tim will be joining us at our February meeting where he will be talking about what mindfulness is and its potential benefits for conditions such as ME/CFS. The session will involve some examples of mindfulness practice so that (if you wish) you can have a go at some of the exercises.
The session will be on Zoom with the usual log in details at 11am which will be posted here nearer the time. People are welcome to join in from 10.30am for informal chat, questions and sharing.
