We are holding our first “Party in the Park” weather permitting on Friday 8th August at 11am. This will be in Alexandria Park in Edgeley on some of the benches by the water which is next to the car park. At time of writing I am still looking for 1-2 volunteers to come closer to 10.30am to welcome any early arrivals.
For the rest of the year we are still finalising plans. We held a recent event at Stockroom which had our highest attendance for a face to face event since the pandemic with about 16-17 people there. We are open to ideas and for people to say what will work best for them. We want to have the main events for face to face socials to be as inclusive as possible in terms of location and activity but we are open to holding additional events where there is interest that some people really want to do but might not work for everyone. We aim to hold one Face to Face event most months. Occasionally we wont have enough volunteers to enable this to happen.
Places we have met before and are keen to use again:-
Stockroom – central Stockport – Tuesdays is their “quiet” day so best for a Tuesday not in school holidays (where it can get too busy)
Alexandria Park – A good option for warmer months so it could be a possibility for September
Vernon Park – This has a cafe that can work for indoor and outdoor meets
MakeGood – Cheadle Health – a good option for art/creative face to face meets
Starbucks Cheadle (on High street) – Can consistently accommodate 6-20 people without being too busy as cafes go
Venues suggested that we have ruled out
Hatworks – parking issues
Fletcher Moss (Didsbury) – parking issues
