Professor Todd Davenport is an Associate Professor at The University of the Pacific, USA as well as a member of The Workwell Foundation. Although he is primarily working in academia he also spends a day a week working with patients. This session will take place on Zoom and details will be made available nearer the time.
Much of his work has been in connection with ME/CFS and other conditions with post exertional fatigue including Long Covid. He has done a lot of work in connection with showing how people with ME.CFS recover differently after exertion than others and how this can be used to aid diagnosis. He is also exploring how heart rate monitors can assist patients with condition management.
As Pacific time is about 8 hours behind UK time this session will be at 6.30pm UK time rather than the normal time for our meetings. We are always looking to have meetings at different times in any case as not everyone can make our morning meetings.
We are also developing a project with Professor Todd Davenport with HRM monitors. We have already secured some funding to purchase some devices and have put in applications for some more. The project will involve teaching people how to use the devices for condition management. As well as expert and peer support in terms of using the devices for these purposes. Details of this are being finalised at the moment and links will be added explaining the project in more detail as things are solidified.
Ben our Co-chair has been using a Heart Rate Monitor to assist with his condition management recently and has been finding it has been making a positive difference for him.
