We are delighted to have been awarded £240 of Stockport Town of Culture Funding to go towards some events and activities over this winter time.
This funding will go towards some gentle adapted yoga on Zoom in January. These sessions are intended for people who have ME/CFS, Fibromyalgia or Long COVID. Everyone intending to participate will need to complete and return a health questionnaire so that Felicity Leigh who is running the sessions can make sure that the sessions are adapted appropriately for your needs. If you already completed one of these for her sessions last year then you probably wont need to do so again unless anything significant has changed. As these sessions are benefiting from a public grant they will be open to everyone ( who meets the criteria). We will be running additional sessions in March and April but unless we secure additional public funding these will be for Stockport ME group members and Stockport residents with Long COVID only. Further details will be published soon.
We are also going to run some arts themed social sessions. Details are still being finalised but we hope that these can be face to face rather than online. We are looking at an Art Cafe in Cheadle Heath for the first event and provisionally looking at November 13th 1pm. We are hoping to run 2-3 art themed sessions in total using this fund. These events will be open to the public although it is really helpful to know who is coming to an event in advance.
Update – Having run one successful art themed social in Cheadle Heath we will now be running two more on 19th January and 20th February at 1pm. For each of these events there is space for about 12 or so people. If you are interested it is helpful if you sign up via our Facebook page but otherwise if you could get in touch with us we will hold you a space.
If you are interested please let us know and we can give you more details.
